In the late summer of 1997 I biked the volcano island San Miguel - midway between Portugal and the US. Here they grow pineapple, tea and other exotic plants. Cha' Gorreana was closed for the weekend, but there was free entrance to their tea fields and the factory with some impressive old machinery.
